OCIA: Order Of Christian Initiation for Adults named Becoming Catholic by our Archbishop is for men and women 18+ years of age who wish to join the Catholic Faith. This is for people in need of receiving the three Sacraments of Initiation of the Roman Catholic Church; Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. If you are baptized in a different Christian denomination and wish to fulfill that baptism by living out the remainder of your life as a Catholic adult, we encourage you to sign up for this program. Your prayer life, discernment, and learning are the lead roles to joining the Catholic Church. You will be eligible to make your Sacraments of Initiation into the church after one year, but please be open if you are not ready at that time. Remember, you'll always be learning throughout the remainder of your life. You can persevere through this exciting time in your life. Let the experience of learning enrich your life and don't get down if your spiritual journey takes longer than one year. Be open to the path God has put you on.
OCIC: Order Of Christian Initiation for Children named Becoming Catholic by our Archbishop is for students who have not received any of the three Sacraments of Christian Initiation in the Roman Catholic Church. The students must be 17 years or younger, and be prepared to engage in a two-year program. The three Sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Faith are Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion.
If you have received Baptism into the Catholic Church, but still need to receive the other two Sacraments of Initiation to fully complete your baptism there is a different class. You can sign up for Confirmation if you are in high school, or Adult Confirmation if you are 18+. Confirmation fulfills the baptism that parents and godparents give a newborn child bringing them into the Body of Christ.
